The manufacturer describes it as a copper monolithic hollow-point fragmenting personal defense round with a 50 grain weight and a velocity of more than 2000 fps (kinetic energy above 450 ft-lbs). It says the lighter projectile gives up to 16% less felt recoil and considerably less weight in loaded magazines than a traditional lead core, copper jacketed hollow point bullet.
The manufacturer reports accuracy of under 2 inches at 50 meters. In temperature-stable Clear Ballistics gelatin testing, it says the rounds consistently penetrate beyond 12 inches and never exit the 16-inch blocks, including when fired through t-shirts, towels and other clothing material. It also says the round penetrates car doors and windshields, reaches the FBI minimum without over-penetrating, and punches through sheet metal and laminated glass.
